We just finished movie night, watched Inception. It was a good movie but a little hard for me to follow. Still not sure I have it figured out. As I mentioned in my last post I have registered for the 3 day walk in Philadelphia. I should have my site up tomorrow and I will post the link. When I did the walk in 2007 a crew member approached me on the night before the closing ceremony and asked me if I would be a back-up flag carrier in the survivor circle if they needed me. It turned out they did not need me. When I saw the 7 women up in the survival circle I knew it was something I'd like to do the next time I did the walk. I decided to call the 800 # listed on the 3 day site and talk to a coach about the walk and how I could be a part of the survival circle. The lady I spoke with was very nice and told me to email her a letter with my story and she would submit it to the Philly coordinator. Well the following day I received an email from Lisa in Philadelphia stating that she would love to have me involved and that she actually want me to be involved in the opening and closing ceremony. So not only will I be walking the walk, I will be carrying a flag with pride in the survival circle on the first and last day of the walk. I am so honored that I have been chosen for such a special part in the walk. It will be great to be up there in my hometown with family and friends there cheering me on. Needless to say this has been the highlight of my week.
Nothing planned for tomorrow until dinner out with Mark. On Sunday Mark and I are going to Watercourse Way in Palo Alto for massages. Looking forward to a relaxing day together. Back to work on Monday.
To bed for now and I will get my site up and post my link this weekend.

great weekend
I had a great weekend with Jill. She came in to visit on Saturday from LA. It was so nice having a girls weekend. We picked her up from the airport on Saturday and went for a walk on the Los Gatos Creek trail then finished with Stack's for breakfast. To make ourselves feel better about eating Stack's we walked home from there! We spent the afternoon in L.G. window shopping and wine tasting. On Sunday we drove to Napa for some more wine tasting. Jill has never been so it was great being her tour guide and educating her on wine tasting (I tried to!). Monday was a relaxing day around the house then dropped Jill at airport Monday night. Thanks Jill for coming to visit:)
Today I did it, registered for the 3 Day walk in Philadelphia in October. Once I get my page up and ready I will attach the link. I am really looking forward to the walk with my sister and Jill and it will be even better being in my home town! More info to come.
Off to shower and to get a massage. So excited. My friend Kelly B. (a travel nurse that was in CA on assignment last year) gave me a gift certificate to a local spa that she got and never used. It has been in my wallet for over 6 months and I think it is about time to use it.

bad memories
I got my second shot of zoladex on Wednesday. The shot itself was not bad at all. The bad part was where I had to sit and wait for my shot. Not sure I mentioned this but I have to go to the ITA every month for my shot, which is where I went for all of my chemo tx. When I got my first shot they took me in to a private room that had a gurney in it, I never had chemo in any of the private rooms. This week they took me to a chair that I sat in for 2 of my chemo treatments. I started looking around the room while waiting for the nurse to come and it really brought back bad memories. Just seeing the pts in the chairs with the chemo dripping and their family members by their sides brought it all back to me. The nurse finally came over and told me the shot wasn't ready. I ended up sitting there and waiting for 30 minutes which seemed like hours. I was so glad to get out of there. I know as time goes on that it will get easier to return to that place but for now it is so fresh in my mind and hard to deal with. Today I started feeling the bone pain, tiredness, and flu like symptoms that can come along with the shot. I was fine all day then around 5pm it hit me. I had to get myself back up and kept on moving.
I was also able to get all of my f/u appts set for 2/3. I will get labs drawn in the am then I have my PET scan at 8:30am then I see my oncologist at 1130. Mark is taking the day off and will be with me. It sure will be nice to get all of that done before our trip back east on 2/10. I'll be glad when it is all over and the results are fine!
Another 12 hour shift tomorrow then off until Monday. Jill gets in Saturday morning and we have a fun weekend planned. I am looking forward to a fun girls weekend.
Cheers...

better
I had a real difficult week last week. It was my first week of 3 12 hour shifts and they were so busy. My shift last Tuesday was going so well then around 5:30pm the s--- hit the fan. Thankfully I had the support and help from co-workers to get me through the last 2 hours of my shift. Without them I really do not know what I would have done. I woke up that morning so excited for my first support group meeting which started at 7:30pm that night. I typically get off of work at 7:15pm so I knew I'd make it to the meeting on time. Well, as the day got worse I did not get out of work until 7:40pm. I left crying and at this point didn't even want to go to the meeting. Thanks to a pep talk from Monika, she convinced me to go and said they would not care that I was a little late. I arrived at 8pm and am so glad that I decided to go. The group meets twice a month and is for young women survivors. There were 7 ladies, including myself. We all seemed to be at different stages in recovery. Some still getting chemo, some just had surgery, some one-two months out. It was really nice. They meet again next week and I am really looking forward to it.
I worked all weekend and then had a retreat yesterday with my C2 family. It was so nice getting together with everyone outside of work. My friend Jill comes to visit from LA on Saturday. I am waiting to see what the weather is going to do but we are for sure going to Napa for the night on Sunday. We will be meeting up with Jenn and staying with her (thx Jenn, can't wait). It should be a really nice, well deserved, fun weekend!
Tomorrow I will get my second Zoladex injection at 2 and then I will start taking my daily Arimidex pill that night. Some side effects have been fatigue, bone pain and dizziness. I really hope these go away as I continue this treatment.
Heading out for a run, hope the rain holds out...

Happy New Year
Well I sure am ready for a new year. And a healthy year. Although each day I still think about my health and wonder if the cancer is still there I know that will pass as time goes on. It will be even better once I get the results of my PETscan in Feb that I know will be normal. I am so thankful to have each day that I am given.
Wishing everyone a wonderful 2011 and thank you for all of your support in 2010.
Cheers
